Mothra (Showa + Heisei)

Name: Mothra (Larva) (Showa)

Mass: 15,000 Tons

Length: 180 Meters

Powers: Web spray.

First appearing in her self titled film, Mothra, Mothra starts out by hatching from an egg, in her larval form.  3 years later, the kaiju was destined to battle Godzilla.  This fight was interesting, with the unexpected twists reminiscent of the first film, and the high point of 60′s Showa Era movies.  The Mothra larva wraps itself in the web spray that it uses as a weapon to form a cocoon, which turns her into her imago form.

Name: Mothra (Imago) (Showa)

Mass: 15,000 Tons

Length: 80 Meters

Wingspan: 250 Meters

Powers: Hurricane gusts from wings, flight at Mach 3.

Mothra’s final form, she is one of the few kaiju to appear in every era of movies.  Mothra is one of the most famous kaiju, and was featured in her own film, Mothra, and was Godzilla’s fierce opponent in the 4th installment of the series, Godzilla vs. Mothra.  She may have lost her web spray, but in turn, Mothra gained extreme speed in flight, and hurricane force winds, similar to those of Rodan.

Name: Mothra (Larva) (Heisei)

Mass: 15,000 Tons

Length: 120 Meters

Powers: Web spray.

After a long break, Mothra returned to the big screen for the Heisei series.  In her first Heisei appearance,  in the movie Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992), as in nearly all cases, Mothra starts out as a Larva.  She may be smaller in this movie, but she retains her webspray, and still packs plenty of punch.

Name: Mothra (Imago) (Heisei)

Mass: 20,000 Tons

Length: 65 Meters

Wingspan: 175 Meters

Powers: Space travel, antenna rays, conduction of energy, lightning from wings, scale attack, hurricane gusts from wings, flight at mach 3, generating Fairy Mothras.

After an ocean battle with Godzilla, Mothra evolved into her imago form, which looks better than ever!  Mothra has gained several additional powers, as listed above, probably due to a budget unheard of during her Showa days.  She is seen tussling with Battra, when the two insects decide to team up, and attempt to take out Godzilla.  The one problem with this new Mothra is the immobility in her wings, they appear as if they are cardboard, which is a real shame considering how excellent the kaiju looks.

Mothra looks excellent in her 1992 appearance.
